I have stayed at this hotel before and had a very good experience, which is why I chose to book it again. Unfortunately, this stay was quite different.
We were met with inadequate cleaning, and there were ongoing issues with the breakfast we had already paid for through a third party (Expedia). The hotel could not see the breakfast reservation in their system, so every morning we had to go through the same discussion in order to receive the breakfast we had already paid for.
Due to the poor cleaning and the lack of hot water during the first 24 hours, we were promised compensation for the first night. However, the refund never arrived despite several emails back and forth with both the hotel and Expedia.
The intentions from the hotel staff were good, and they did try to address the issues and offer compensation. However, it was a very disappointing experience that the promised refund never materialized.
Because of this, we are not certain we will choose this hotel again on our next trip to London, even though the hotel otherwise lives up to our expectations – and in many ways exceeds them. 😟
