Cleanliness: Pretty clean for Amsterdam standards. No spots on the sheets, no hair etc in the shower. But, the area where the kettle and the cups are were not cleaned, and the shelves were dusty. The carpet was a bit smelly. The fabric of the chair could have been sth like leather so it could be cleaned. In general, pretty clean.
Location: Close to neighborhoods where locals live. A 3 minute walk to vondelpark. For day trips, it's one stop away from the train station Leylaan.
Comfort&Amenities: The bed, pillows and duvet were comfortable. The shower gel was refilled, we couldnt trust the hygiene of the bottles, so we didnt use them. A rack would be great for winter stays. We appreciated the hot water in the shower. Hairdrier was weak. No slippers. Lights, buttons were postioned well. Coffeetabels, good TV.
Reception: Especially the Portugese lady for the nightshift was really helpful and friendly. The daytime gentleman was very kind and helpful too. They keep your luggage for you before checkin and after checkout.
Room temperature: The room was really cold! The room temperature seems to be set to 20 degrees C, but it feels a colder. Supposedly, you can adjust it by 3 degrees lower or higher, but even so, in a few seconds, it goes back to 20. At our first night, I wore double layers of pyjamas, socks, and a scarf, and still trembled and could not put myself to sleep. Luckily, the receptionist offered a solution, which worked pretty well. So ask for help if you get cold.
