10/10 Exceptional

The place had literally changed management that day so unfortunately there was no cooked breakfast (only continental) until Sunday when the Chef would be in. Also the dinner menu was changed temporarily because of the sudden change in management. However, the new management and team were amazing in the service provided. Dinner was excellent and there was enough at breakfast for us to be satisfied. Rooms were spotless with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Hot powerful shower with shampoo, shower gel, soap, etc provided. Comfortable bed and pillows. Dog friendly too.

Value for money

No food available Monday, and toilet seat broken, but staff friendly and good value for money

Lovely inn to stay in with my two small dogs in way through to Devon - spacious immaculate room with separate bath and walk in shower, ample parking - soon to be hooked up for EV charging too! Friendly staff and good breakfast - what’s not to love!

10/10 Exceptional

Under new management and keen eager to please friendly staff. Executive beldroom of an excellent size and very comfortable. Handily placed to use as base for travelling to surrounding areas.
Iain, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Excellent room, good continental breakfast and welcoming staff. Disappointing evening meal experience with multiple advertised aspects of the food and wine not available.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Tired rooms need to be painted and wall paper either updated or restuck to walls. Breakfast was limited and not ready at gje designated time. Room was spacious and a good quality matress. Bathroom was large and clean.
Sonia, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The room was large and clean and the nights were quiet and confortable. The staff were helpful and willing to adjust checkin and checkout times without imposing extra charges. Restaurant times were limited, 1 hour for breakfast and no evening meal served Sunday night. Breakfast is included in the price, though the selection of food on offer for breakfast is a lot less than you would find at, say, premier inn. So, in short, it is a small independent hotel and that has pros and cons.
Stephen, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very welcoming. Room clean. Bed very comfortable. Good parking. Very dog friendly except there is nowhere to walk them. Breakfast disappointing as no hot drink with continental and no offer of more toast. Bathroom clean but somewhat dated.
Alan, 1-night trip

Room was fantastic and spotless as was the Bathroom.
Mark, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Nice large room, comfy bed. But very loud central heating boiler and only cereal and toast for breakfast when booking said English breakfast.
Ian, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

We did not eat there
Wayne, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Nice little hotel with thatched roof.
Douglas, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

The room was clean, however the service was terrible, no clear management, food took 50 min with just 3 table, breakfast “continental” but no option apart from mouldy breaf
chiara, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

We had hiked 15 miles so we were just so pleased to get in and have a good shower and a comfy bed. Just as well we were already awake though as they were sawing up wood to make decking below our room window at 7.15 am…
Christel Caderius van, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The beds were wonderful, the room was larger than expected and the people were very nice. I look forward to seeing what this hotel will be like after it’s renovated and has beautiful hanging baskets outdoors. It definitely needs some TLC! Adding an espresso maker for good coffee would also be a plus hint hint ;-)
Melinda, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

This property needs alot of money spent on it to tidy up the facilities. Menu is very limited. Rooms were nice, but couldn’t have a shower as it was either ice ice cold of scalding hot. Ended up just having a stand up wash. No cooked breakfast. Very dissapointed.
Carl, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The Management and staff were very welcoming.

The management and staff were very welcoming, the room was to a high standard of cleanliness, the bed was clean and comfortable. The only fault we could find was a limited menu and the non availability of a cooked breakfast. They have only recently taken over the establishment and have been left with a debt to pay from the previous proprietor. It is no longer a Green King, that was disappointing as I could of earn’t discount as a Blue light worker.
Michael, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

Advertised with room - cooked English breafast. Apparently no chef so was told when we checked in it will be a continental breakfast. Also as there was no chef there would be no evening meals for the rest of our stay. Continental breakfast was small variety pack cereals, yoghurt (just 2 available), 2 apples, 3 muffins (flies kept landing on these) & toast. Not what I would call Continental. The last morning there were some miniature pastries which were snapped up by foreign visitors.
