Our stay at Mercure Zakopane was a somewhat mixed expirience. We are regular travellers in Poland and were looking forward to a nice stay at a higher-end hotel due to the price of the stay.
The hotel is beautifully situated in the mountains, with a breathtaking view both from the rooms and the restaurant. About 50 meters from the hotel is skiing-facilities, witch we didn't use, but appeared to be very popular. Parking is available, at a price of 35 PLN per night unsupervised, or 50 PLN per night with survailance. You will need to pay for parking if you bring your car, as the hotel is situated somewhat remote in Zakopane.
The hotel is nice and clean with small but cozy rooms. The bed was very fine and comfortable. The breakfast was extravagant with everything you could wish for and had a cost of 42 PLN per person per day. At the time of our stay the hotel was fullly booked, but it did not feel crowded.
The internet-connection was quite bad.
Most staff was english speaking and very polite. However we did have some problems at our arrival. We had booked a room with a kingsize doublebed, but got a room with two single beds. We complained about this, but the staff was not willing to do anything about it at first. We had to speak with a manager, and become very angry, before we finally got a family room with a doublebed and another singlebed. It was a bad start for our stay and it affected us for the whole time we were there.
