My mom and I stayed at Hotel Mesaluna near the American consulate in Ciudad Juárez for her visa immigration appointment and it was an overall great stay. The hotel could use some upgrades but overall, it felt safe, it was comfortable and it was really close to the consulate.
LOCATION AND PRICE: We had really early mornings to turn in documents and for the interview, so walking a quick 5 minutes was perfect. I'd recommend this hotel if you're here for the same thing and if you don't have a car (if you have a car, then I recommend booking an Airbnb for cheaper and you can always park in the nearby mall parking lot or even in the hotel parking lots if you ask).
FOOD: The food here was pretty good and affordable. I'd recommend getting a reservation with breakfast included and if you want to eat dinner here, too, then it's good and pretty cheap! But you have a good amount of places nearby you can walk to as well. There's a mall, Starbucks, plenty fast food joints, taco spots and also a Walmart and VIPS nearby.
CLEANLINESS: It could be cleaner and I know the housekeepers must have a lot of work but all they really do is throw the trash out and replenish towels and water. They don't really mop, sweep or wipe surfaces down. That was a bit frustrating as we were here for 10 days.
Ultimately, you can find cheaper on Airbnb, but this hotel felt like the perfect place to say. Plus, you can make friends and ask each other questions about the process at the consulate.
