We stayed for five nights at the Saba Hotel, and it was a very mixed experience. My wife and I were travelling with two other family members, but even though we had booked at the same time, we were placed in two different buildings that were 100 meters apart. We were allowed to move to their location after the first night, which was great because the second room was both bigger and facing away from the fairly noisy street.
The rooms are clean and towels and sheets are changed daily, but they are also very small. In the "standard" rooms there are no chairs/desks, and only room for a (comfortable) bed and a small closet and a fridge. Bathrooms are also tiny, although clean and fairly modern.
Breakfast was ok, although it is good to get there early as there aren't enough seats for everyone. There are two/three types of cereals, and you are offered a choice of scrambled/fried eggs to go along with a few slices of toast which are accompanied by butter/jam (nothing else). The service is very mixed as the weekend staff were very friendly, but the one on Monday seemed quite rude and not very service-orientated.
The area is nice and relaxed and there are a few good pubs and decent restaurants close by. It is a 10-12 min walk to Hammersmith st. (with great connections) but you can take a bus very close to the hotel. All in all an ok experience (based on price level), but just be prepared for the small rooms.
