Everything about our stay was difficult from beginning to end. First off, the "Bay Suites" does not exist and it has no affiliation with the W Miami. These are just units rented out within the Icon Residences.
First off the webform that we needed to fill out prior to arrival did not work, so I called the number. I was able to reach someone (with a Canadian number, sketchy) who asked me to email them copies of the drivers licenses of everyone staying in the unit. I did before takeoff, but when we arrived the front desk man said he had no record of our reservation. After calling again at 10:30 at night and about 45 minutes later, we were able to gain access to the unit.
The unit itself was fine. Some of the lights didn't work, limited number of towels/pillows, and there was hair on the floor that had not been cleaned.
Here's everything else that went wrong: the elevator situation is a nightmare. You will wait forever to get one. We even got stuck in one where it just kept taking us up and down. The pool/amenity situation is a joke. Even though we paid for a third person to stay in the unit, only two of us were allowed to use the pool or gym. They take pictures of you and your ID every time you go, which is so weird to me. The staff seems miserable to be there, and they even commiserated with us on the horrible management of the building.
Overall, STAY AWAY. This place is not worth the headaches and hassle is will cause during your vacation.
