If you’re looking for great restaurants in Bavaria, you have a huge variety to choose from. Bavaria is the largest state in Germany, covering almost a fifth of the country. It includes the well-loved city of Munich, known for its annual Oktoberfest celebrations where traditional Bavarian lederhosen and dirndls are worn. Bavaria also encompasses a number of smaller cities including Nuremburg, Augsburg and Regensburg.

Bavarian food is famously meat-heavy. Pork sits at the top of the meat hierarchy, with favourites like bratwurst, knuckle and meatloaf all consistently popular. Many of the best restaurants are traditional and use seasonal produce to celebrate their regional ingredients. And whatever restaurant you visit, your meal can be washed down with pints of delicious, freshly-brewed Bavarian beer.
