The staff were very nice and helpful - and we really needed it! The hotel is outdated and worn down. The first night we couldn’t sleep due too the room facing the busiest street in Budapest center with cars, ambulances, buses etc. driving all night long, and the windows in our room couldn’t really shut tightly (sounded like they were wide open). We asked to switch rooms that night, but this wasn’t possible and no upgrade was offered to help the situation. The next day we were offered another room facing the courtyard. This room was not noisy at all, but the air-condition did not work. Yet again we needed assistance from the staff. First time we asked they said maintenance would fix it sometime during the day. This didn’t happen before we asked a second time coming back to the hotel in the evening. What a shame our experience was let down by these maintenance issues. The hotel bar was closed during our entire stay which seems odd because we were traveling to Budapest in may.
All in all, nice staff but a run down hotel which has seen better days. Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel and max rating of 6 out of 10. What a shame.
