Well I cannot really give my impression of the room and hotel itselves, because I wasn't even in !
I made the reservation online about one month ago before my arrival, and I mentioned that I will arrived very late at night (between 11:30 pm and midnight, because my plane from Dublin landed at Liverpool airport at 11pm). I know that the last check in is around 7:30 pm so that's why I advised them in advance.
The problem is... well nobody was here when I arrived in front of the Banjo : lights out inside, doors locked and the main phone number of the hotel keep ringing. I came by taxi, so I haven't any choice that reserve any room in premier inn near the airport (hopefully they have one available but it cost me £72).
Now I am still asking the staff to make a refund of my booking, but there is no answer for the moment. That is unacceptable, they just sent me another phone number that I was supposed to call once I am off the aiport, but I received it too late anyway.
Next time, I wouldn't choose a cheapo hotel like this one without being sure that somebody could open the main entrance, even in the middle of the night.

Football Weekend visit
Hi the hotel is bit off the beaten track but having said this provided excellent value for money. I would recommend The Banjo to anybody visiting the city.

Lovely warm welcome
Ali was a great host and made me feel very welcome. The rooms are above a pub which is no longer in use. A full kitchen is available if you want to make your own food.
The room was simple but comfortable. A shared bathroom but I had the place to myself so I can't comment on that.
The area is a little rough round the edges but for the price, this was a great little find.

Have been traveling to Liverpool alot and this is by far the best accommodation for the price I have stayed in. The lady that owns it could not do enough for us to enjoy our stay and even offered transport for us till the city centre. Will must definitely be staying again

if you think of the banjo as a friendly B&B, you can't go far wrong. Ali, the owner's daughter is super friendly & cabs in Liverpool very cost effective to get to and from the B&B.

CHEAP AND CHEERFUL
Exactly what I was wanting, a cheap hotel in Bootle, shared bathroom but free internet, free breakfast (cereals etc and free wifi.The people are friendly and I will definitely use again
