I may just have been unfortunate to have experienced "the perfect storm" but.....
When I arrived I was not expected. Fortunately, I had printed my Hotels.com documentation and we were able to resolve the matter quickly.
The room itself was cold and the manager/proprietor was very defensive about this. Furthermore, he would not come to the room to switch on the heater. The heater eventually came on at 1.45 am (waking me up with its noise).
It is easy to see, therefore, that if the manager had been aware that I was arriving, he might have checked the room and switched the heater on so that the room was warm on my arrival. Had both these things happened, I might have had a much more favourable view of this hotel.
For the benefit of any readers of these comments, I would add that I prefer the room to be cool so if it is too cold for me, many travellers would find it impossibly cold.
