We recently stayed at the Grand Palladium Punta de Mita and while the location is beautiful, the overall experience was disappointing. Service was consistently poor—basic requests felt like an inconvenience, and we were never once offered drink service by a waiter. Long lineups for food and drinks were constant, largely due to the resort allowing day passes, which made the pools and common areas overcrowded.
Despite being advertised as all-inclusive, there were frequent upcharges for premium drinks, food items, and room upgrades, which made the resort feel more focused on upselling than guest comfort. Our room was cleaned well, but it was outdated and in disrepair. A service request for a broken toilet was never addressed. The facilities felt neglected—pools were scrubbed during peak hours and one afternoon a film resembling vomit covered the quiet pool, prompting us to cut our stay short.
After two days, we moved to Secrets next door, where the difference in service, cleanliness, and hospitality was immediate. Even at checkout, the staff showed little interest in our concerns and offered no apology or compensation.
With better maintenance and a stronger focus on guest experience, this resort has potential—but based on our visit, we would not return or recommend it.
