We had an amazing stay at Hilton Tulum. My guard was up prior to arrival based on earlier reviews (food quality, beach, etc.). The food quality was *OK*… the reservation restaurants were about average to what you’d get anywhere, a few hits and a few misses. We found the buffet to be quite good (especially Vela Sur), breakfast is the highlight. I’d say the beach remains a work in progress, but totally swimmable. Best of all is the isolation. Close to Tulum and Xel Ha, but on its own along the coast. A bit more effort to get to from Cancun airport, but well worth it. The property was beautiful, of course it is nearly new. Finally, the staff and service was amazing all around! My only recurring issue was finding small notes and pesos to tip appropriately. Totally avoidable with foresight, but the ATM on property was broken much of the week, and the sundries store a was wildly expensive making it difficult to get smaller notes with modest purchases.
