Stayed here to celebrate a special occasion, we were given the honeymoon suite which is a lovely room, with a 4 poster bed, a roll top bath a stunning views.
Downside is the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever had in a hotel, had to ask the housekeeper for a spare duvet to put under us, I'd recommend a mattress topper at the very least. I'd suggest a new mattress.
The shower does not drain properly and overflows the tray, someone came to "fix" it, but it made no difference. However he was hotel staff snd not a plumber.
No lift, and stairs are not in the best condition, in desperate need of re carpeting as they are threadbare, not just worn.
The upstairs rooms are definitely not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility.
The hotel is lovely, but tired and in need of a little tlc to bring it up to standard.
Breakfast was good, it's self service but well cooked and a good variety. Its obviously a wedding venue, and that is clearly what it does best. I'd avoid staying there if there was a wedding as there is no soundproofing.
Staff polite and friendly. Reslly made a difference.
Overall it was a lovely stay, the hotel just needs a bit of investment.
