"This hotel is about 25 minutes from the main area of South Lake Tahoe/stateline, but it’s a beautiful drive that goes quickly and so worth it! We stayed in “St Nicks” cabin and it was just so perfect! So clean, well cared for, nicely stocked kitchen, and fun loft area to sleep in. I will for SURE stay at this Desolation Hotel again, and I will tell my friends and family as well. Thank you for a great spot! "

"Silver Lake is a beautiful location and having cabins to rent on the lake side is pretty special. The cabins are old and rather quirky, but you can over look some inconveniences, like luke warm water, missing chairs for dining, no plugs in the sinks and even a mouse in your room. But when we checked in they charge me for the room even though I had paid for it . I had to find my credit card bill to show I had paid for the room. Once I showed them my credit card statement they refunded the money...
