The buried $65/day parking fee!!!
Great location, but the buried $65/day parking fee soured the experience
We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn Gaslamp, clean rooms, great location, and friendly staff. But we left feeling frustrated and misled by the $65 per night valet parking fee that wasn’t clearly disclosed during booking. Yes, it’s mentioned in the fine print deep in the “Optional extras” section on Marriott’s website, but it’s not upfront during the booking flow, no warning before checkout, no bold notification, nothing obvious.
That’s a huge added cost, especially for guests planning longer stays. It feels intentionally buried, and that lack of transparency left a bad taste. For a brand like Marriott, I expect better. Be honest with your guests. We likely would’ve made a different choice if we had seen the full cost upfront.
