My recent stay at the Taj Mahal Tower Hotel in Mumbai was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Despite its reputation, the hotel fell far short of expectations, and I left feeling frustrated and let down.
The biggest issue was the constant construction noise that lasted until 4 AM. I was shocked that a luxury hotel would allow such disruptive noise to continue through the night. Despite being assured of a quiet stay, the relentless drilling, banging, and machinery sounds made it impossible to sleep. When I complained, the staff offered little more than a half-hearted apology, and no alternative solutions were provided. For the price I paid, this was completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the hotel **failed to honor the amenities I had paid for**, including a **free room category upgrade**. I was told at check-in that no upgrades were available due to high occupancy, yet I later found out that other guests had received upgrades. This felt like a blatant disregard for what I had been promised and paid for.
The hotel was also overcrowded and chaotic. The lobby and common areas were packed with guests, and there was no room to sit or relax. The breakfast area was equally crowded, with long waits for tables and a rushed, impersonal service. It felt more like a busy train station than a luxury hotel.
