Stayed in Mérida at this hotel for two nights and then another night after returning a rental car to Mérida Airport. The beds are comfortable, the room is really clean. Airconditioning works fine, which is necessary given Mérida's heat (35C/95F in April). The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of blocks from the Zocalo/Main Square and its sights and restaurants. For me, location and cleanliness goes a long way, and comparing this with the price, the hotel is overall good value and I would recommend it.
There are however some points that need improvement. The hotel has just three floors but no elevator - I wouldn't complain if not for the fact that I usually carry a heavy suitcase around, but you can request a bellhop to carry it up and down. The hotel has a pool but it's rather small. Breakfast is not a buffet, it is served from a menu in the hotel restaurant which seems slightly disorganized, as I have received my cooked meals long before the requested bottle of water arrived. Last but definitely not least, I used the laundry service which is in dire need of an overhaul. The room had no laundry bags, had to request those twice. The hotel claims your laundry returns same day between 6-7 pm, I asked the reception at 7:30 - the clothes were back, but not returned before I pay for the service. No one announced the arrival of the laundry. I had to borrow a scissor to remove tags left on every piece of clothing as well. Staff mostly Spanish-speaking (normal in Mexico).
