Hotels.com Fails to Meet Its Mission
(After Hotels.com wanted the review revised here is the (awkwardly worded) revision.
Hotels.com's mission is to make travel effortless and enjoyable and that was not the case here. After we had booked an Airbnb that fell through one particular evening here in July around midnight we booked 2 rooms through Hotels.com for a couple of days that we needed immediately. Unfortunately, the reservations actually begin at 3pm later that day (not the morning hours of said day here in July). We showed up at the hotel around 1am and realized the mistake. We were willing to book 2 rooms but the particular hotel was sold out and we were informed to contact Hotels.com to cancel the reservation, which the hotel wasn't able to do because we had booked through Hotels.com. We notified Hotels.com immediately but they weren't able to connect with the venue and so we were charged for 2 nights for 2 rooms that we did not use. I attempted to connect with the hotel and they referred us back to Hotels.com. In short, we got the run-around and Hotels.com failed to meet its mission of making things effortless (including posting this review).
