The best nightclubs in Tokyo feature cutting-edge designs, expert musicians, and world-class DJs playing diverse styles of music. Nightclubs in Japan’s capital generally fall into the most popular genres of music – hip hop, EDM, live rock and jazz – but there are plenty more musical styles being performed in smaller, more underground clubs.

There are several nightlife areas in Tokyo, with the most popular being Shibuya, Shinjuku, and foreigner-friendly Roppongi. Nightlife in Japan shows a fascinating insight into the unique styles and tastes of the local Japanese, so it's worth spending at least 1 night exploring Tokyo after dark.
