I arrived only hours after hurricane Helene had left the area. The power was on, but the water to the town and the internet were down. I was informed of this situation at check-in and accepted this as normal considering the situation.
Since the internet was down, my booking information was listed but the payment from Expedia had not been processed yet.
Luckily, I had enough reservation information in my email to confirm that Expedia should be paying for the room.
My room was clean and well kept, but the common areas of the hotel looked a bit warn-out. The floor of the elevator was in one piece, but well warn. The elevator cabin was a bit banged-up, but the elevator worked just fine. The carpets in the hallway to the room were a little stained here and there.
Outside my room, the corner protector on the wall had pulled-away from the wall and was hanging precariously.
The water in the town (not just the hotel) was out for about the first 24 hours of my stay. This was OK considering that a hurricane had just come through a beat the crap out of and flooded much of the surrounding area. What I found a little strange is that the hotel did not provide bottled water for guests at the front desk at any point. There $2.00 per bottle price to be able to brush my teeth in the morning.
The internet in most of the town was down (typical for Spectrum Internet after storms, but terrible just the same). The hotel should look into Starlink internet service as a replacement.
