Initially not bad, got entire top floor basically, beds comfy, room amenities pretty good. But very noisy. 2nd night couldn't sleep because pounding base was shaking whole room. Made worked by giant crack and 1 inch hole in window. At midnight asked to be moved to new room, which was on 1st floor, above a bar, music went till 12:30 so a little better than 2. Got food poisoning and had to stay in bed a whole day, this is when things got really bad. Construction right outside my window, guy litteraly pounding the wall with a hammer. Had to go out twice and tell reception to do something, and had to wait 20 min for them to track down owner, then from 6 -12:30 very loud karaoke from bar 1 floor below. The owner Felipe is curt, rude and dosn't seem to care about his guests well being only money (on the 1st night I turned up with a fellow traveller whom he wanted to charge $23 to take one of the 3 beds I had on my room for 1 night when I paid $55 for 3 even though hotel wasn't fully booked) Manager Miriam seems disengaged and even put out when having to care for guests, prioritizing phone calls and computer work over the guests that are physically in front of her. The only decent member of staff is the young guy Alejandro. Unless yout came to Quito to drink and party all night in Gringolandis area, don'the stay here. You will not get a good night's sleep and it will impact the activities you want to do in the city. If I had known more I would have never stayed here.
