Old hotel, needs some renovation, replace old furniture etc. -- although the interior has its charm the way it is, some of it has simply become too old.
Food quality unfortunately quite low; boring and dull food. Although the guest relations and managers really wanted to make us happy, and even generously gave us a "special lunch" that was truly delicious, the daily restaurant food remained bad. Furthermore, we only very rarely got any service at all when sitting outside the restaurant -- no waiters came and we had to spend time searching for service just to get something to drink. We ended up ordering roomservice food quite alot, simply because a burger with fries was way better than the restaurant food.
A small but very significant lack was the terrible quality of the coffee. Watery and thin, undrinkable. More like thin tea than coffee. The hotel had 1 Nescafe machine, located not in the restaurant. We had to go to the bar just to get a decent cup of coffee (since no waiters were available). They really need to improve here, good coffee is not that expensive and makes a world of difference. Move machine to restaurant?
The hotel location is fairly good - a short taxi ride from the marina, with great restaurants, shops and a safe atmosphere.
Conclusion: Not recommended, some rooms need renovation / new furniture, service quality needs to be better (waiters etc.), food quality must be better - more variety and taste, and finally decent coffee is a MUST!
