Arriving at the main entrance was a little daunting, not usual to find metal gates across the entrance, however upon entering a warm welcome, made me feel a bit better. The hotel was once a major hotel in Durban but over the years has been taken over by other more impressive and more expensive options. Park View is now a retirement home, and caters to the seniors market. I entered my room, a large well decorated room, small kitchenette with fridge and microwave, crockery and utensils, flat screen TV, very comfortable bed and plenty of handing wardrobes, in room safe, iron and ironing board, nice clean bathroom wet room shower, (water pressure a bit low) but OK.
Breakfast served in main dining room is extra, and you need a voucher from Reception, pleasant, efficient staff and a nice variety on offer, dont miss bacon on Sundays. I stayed 4 nights and enjoyed my stay very much, staff very pleasant and service good.
