I booked this hotel based on the info published on the Travelocity.com website, which states that it offers "airport
transportation, complementary." When I landed at CAN (Guangzhou Airport), there was no shuttle to bring me to
the hotel, and I was in fact besieged by numerous aggressive taxi drivers, all offering me a different rate to bring me
to King Garden Hotel (some quite astronomical). I finally chose one with considerable trepidation, and was driven
safely to the hotel for a fee of 200RMB. Upon arrival, I tried to explain the issue to the staff, who appeared not to understand. At departure two days later, I brought up the issue again, showing the person at the front desk the website, which stated that the booking included "airport transportation, complementary." They appeared incredulous, and got the manager on the phone, who offered to hire a taxi for my departure, for a rate of 120RMB, to be PAID BY ME. This breach of contract was very disturbing -- for me the matter of principle was primary, not the cost of a round-trip taxi ride. The hotel has nonchalantly breached its contract, but I am requesting my credit card company to withhold the amount I paid for the taxi transportation, hoping that this action will cause the hotel to honor
its commitments with integrity in the future. The room itself was comfortable, clean, quiet and well-provisioned. Too
bad the whole experience was marred by the management's blatant, obvious lack of honesty.
