Boutique hotels offer style, but at the cost of amenities.
First the good points:
Cas Ferrer Nou Hotelet is in an excellent location, barely 100m from the main square of old Alcudia, which has plenty of restaurants and bars. It's a short walk from the bus stop and city walls. Despite this it's very quiet.
The room was very stylish, with a comfy bed and plenty of room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Now the not so good:
There is no 24hr staffing. We arrived at 11pm and the keys were left for us to find our own way to our room. There is also no lift, and 5 of the 6 rooms are upstairs, so you have to carry your bags yourself.
The room description clearly says "jetted bathtub", which my wife was looking forward to, but it was an ordinary bath.
Breakfast is cold cuts of meat, cheese, pastries, cereal and fruit. All very tasty, but if you want a coffee the nice lady will make it for you, one slow cup at a time. If you want orange juice the nice lady will make it fresh for you, one glass at a time. If you want eggs you can have the fried or scrambled, by the nice lady, once again slowly. If there are a few people then you can be waiting for a while, so budget your time accordingly.
There is no bar in the hotel, and the mini-bar wasn't restocked after we used it on the first night. There is also no ice available. So if you want a drink you'll need to drink out, and they close around 11pm.
It's almost a great hotel, but doesn't offer enough for the money charged.
