Good bits and not-so-good bits.
The staff were very helpful and friendly - couldn't do enough for you. A minor problem in our room got resolved swiftly. The food was plentiful, with lots of choice - I would defy anyone to fail to find something they liked! And the (free) wine was perfectly acceptable.
But there were some drawbacks.....maybe we were unlucky, but during the weekend we stayed there, the "entertainment" (around the pool during the day) was so noisy, we couldn't hear ourselves think! And we were down on the beach.....It went on for what felt like hours, and we weren't the only people complaining.
Another problem was that the north east corner of the hotel overlooked four very large (air conditioning?) fans, outside on the ground, making a noise night and day, which disturbed us on the 11th floor. Once again, others complained, and at least one family got their room changed as a result.
The final significant problem was how cold the rooms and corridors were in the hotel - I turned our air con off when we arrived, but it still took three days to warm up enough to make it comfortable, and I didn't expect to need two blankets in Nassau in March!
We did venture downtown Nassau, but tbh it was a bit spoilt by the massive cruise ships and their passengers (obviously not the fault of the hotel). Taxis are plentiful; we actually tried the local buses (jitneys) which, albeit a bit rickety, were full of lots of friendly people helping us find our stop.
