The hotel itself, as well as our room, was perfectly clean. However, the area directly outside the entrance was abysmal. It constantly smelled like cigarette smoke, there were cigarette butts all over, the couches where people might sit and wait for the shuttle had many burn holes, etc. Even the planters that housed the plants (which didn't look very attractive) were old and poorly maintained. Overall, standing in that front area was just very unpleasant. I would suggest making that area a NO SMOKING area. A good power washing and some new furniture and planters would do wonders for that area.
One other issue I had was when I left a note asking housekeeping for two glasses to be left by the sink in the living room. When I returned to my room there were none. I called the front desk and the person said they would have housekeeping bring up a few. I explained that I was going to take a nap, and to please have the housekeeping staff leave the glasses outside the door. I hung my "Do Not Disturb" placard on the door handle. About 15 minutes later, just as I was falling asleep, someone began knocking very hard on the door saying, "HOUSEKEEPING." She continued and continued. She then used her phone on speaker to call the front and explain that I wasn't answering. She must've been told to just leave the glasses outside and at that point she left. What is the purpose of having a DND placard if the staff is going to pound on the door? It was very frustrating...
