Right out the gate - handed two room cards, one with some kind of dark sauce on it, perhaps foreshadowing(?). I was unlucky enough to be given a room next to both the elavators and housekeeping staff room. Loud at night with guests slamming doors close to midnight (why on earth don't "nice" hotels all have quiet-close doors?!), and then 6am, every single morning, the housekeeping staff slamming THEIR doors as they come in and out of rooms/the housekeeping staff room.
The room itself was actually on the verge of disgusting - feet stuck to the floor - sink drain clogged - dust everywhere including the several visible power strips that really show the hotel's age. The gadget hub/charger by the desk was broken and dangling by a thin piece of wood - AC/heat thermometer must be failing because it was 20⁰ outside with a poorly insulated window and I had to set it to 73⁰ for the heat to kick in, in a room where I could almost see my breath.
Had a drink at The Bar - staff were friendly and drinks were excellent; brought food to my room and it was great - no complaints there.
I also had a not-so-friendly interaction with The Bar's manager but I can let it slide since they seemed a bit frazzled and maybe new to the hospitality game.
It pains me a little to say it but my experience was unfortunately mediocre - maybe a cleaner room with a quieter location could make up for it but with so many options in the area I dont think I'll be returning next time.
