This was our first time at the Sandman Suites Vancouver on Davie. We chose this hotel because of its location to St Paul's Hospital and we were delighted with the eclectic nature of Davie St, along with the beautiful views of English Bay..
It should be noted that if you come by car, the parking/lobby entrance is located off the narrow street behind the hotel. There is only a walk-in entrance on Davie.
The hotel is in the midst of renovations, so some of the areas are still rather dated looking, but if our room is anything to go by, the hotel is going to be amazing when complete.
Our renovated ocean view suite (king) was located on the 23rd floor facing English Bay. We found it
comfortable and clean throughout. Although we did not need a kitchenette, we were very impressed with all the amenities. It even had a compact size stove with an oven, as well as, an insuite washer and dryer!
We loved the amazing views from the balcony, but if you have any issues with heights, or have small children that require constant supervision, it might be best to enjoy the view from inside the balcony doors. The design and openness of the balcony did feel a bit unnerving when we first stepped out.
Our check-in and check-out were both quick and easy, and the front desk attendants were all very welcoming and helpful. We also appreciated the reasonably priced underground parking.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Sandman Suites on Davie, and look forward to our next visit.
