I've stayed at Hopeland on many occasions, it has excellent location close to BTS, shopping, nightlife, local food, local park etc.
Hotels.com does however give a slightly better impression than what is real. First off, this is not a 100$/night hotel ,that you get a huge discount on. The walk-in price is closer to 50$/night, so the advertised discount by hotels.com does potentially lead you to believe you are getting a better deal than you are, and potentially puts your expectations too high.
Second a lot of the ammenities as well as service and requirements have changed over the years. Hotels.com hasn't kept up with this, and is still reflecting how things worked a time long ago.
That said, you get an excellent hotel at the price, if you pay less than 30-40$ which is acceptable for this standard and service.
Breakfast at the hotel is not impressive, but available. Cleaning is not impressive, but acceptable. Service is not impressive, but its there. The pool and public facilities needs an update, but are still functional. Not all rooms are listed on hotels.com (or other sites - I managed to get an extension of my stay, even though all apps said the hotel was sold out - it wasn't, as there were barely any guests there due to low season) The list goes on.
Despite its lackluster, I will probably continue to go back to this hotel, as long as I keep getting the low rates available. Because it's comfortable, clean, and well situated
