The hotel is clean, functional and in good condition. The location is ok, but some walking or use of transportation will be needed to get to sights etc. The area is a bit dark and not particular appealing (a bit run down,no interesting shops, cafés, restaurants nearby). The staff was very friendly, though, responding quick to any request, speaking perfect english and always polite. The breakfast was also very good. And it is a plus that there is a decent coffe machine in the room. The biggest drawback was the heat in the room. It was incredibly warm and stuffed in the room, which made us loose a lot af sleep. There was aparently nothing to be done except opening the window facing the boulevard (which is noisy). The window, however, was locked and couldn't be opened without asking for for permission in the reception. The friendly staff did open the window for us, but it seems a bit silly that guest cannot open windows in the room without special permission a staff coming to open and later close the window. Luckily the staff forgot to get back and lock it again. It might just be that 25 celcius is normal room temperature in Budapest (many other places, cafees, museums etc. where also extremely warm inside), but it was a big minus for us.
Overall it was an ok experience with nothing to complain about except for the warm room, but we will probably try a different hotel next time we are in budapest.
