I regret booking The Dean for our downtown Providence trip. The room did not reflect the photos on their website, there is no minibar (the front desk collects anything you need to be refrigerated or frozen - which is iffy because when I was waiting to retrieve my ice packs someone was picking up their leftovers and they said something in that bag wasn't theirs, use that service at your discretion), the central ac unit was broken (so our room had a window ac, which allowed extra noise from the outside in, but not only that smoke and the smell of marijuana from outside too). We requested cribs for our children and the cribs were mismatched, and soiled - I had to call for extra linens to line the cribs because housekeeping did not do that for the babies. On the subject of babies, if you're traveling with children or small babies, they have a very small lift with the metal sliding doors, so be careful with the little fingers and toes. The room we stayed in seemed like it could use some cleaning also, there were dust under the bed and the bedsheet was stained. To communicate with the downstairs staff you either have to leave your room and use a community phone or call/text a number (I tried the text and no one reponded to me, so I had to call). Overall, not the best experience staying at The Dean - unfortunately will not be coming back or recommending this place.
