The problem with this process is that Hotels.com is asking me to review Ruby Lodge when I in fact stayed at Hammack-Moore House, a sister property. The Hotels.com listing was not clear that there are two properties. I figured it out, with help from reviewers, and wasn't unhappy with the venue change. But they are two very different locations and properties. Hammack-Moore house in on Main Street just a few blocks from the city hall, and it's a classic Victorian home with beautiful stained glass windows and woodwork. The hosts do not live on the property and it seems to be a little of a "step-sister" property; i.e., while you have the run of the home, there isn't a running coffee/tea station and no breakfast in the home (you go to a nearby local coffee shop). Some simple amenities such as a tissue box and, in our case, easily accessible towels, were missing. (We found some in a hallway cabinet.) That said, it also was Solar Eclipse weekend, and we checked in the night of the eclipse, so we were thankful to have even landed a room so close to the Totality capital. Hotels.com really needs to update the listing to make it more clear about the two properties. Even my confirmation still said Ruby Ridge and listed that address. If I wasn't paying attention, I would have gone to the wrong property. The B&B's own website makes the distinction very clear.
