I have stayed at this hotel over 10 times since it opened. I grew up here and have regular business to conduct. I have often recommended this hotel to friends and family. My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel (room 314) this past weekend. I selected this hotel because I have always had a good stay here in the past.
HOWEVER, this weekend, when we were checking out, we noticed that the trash can under the bathroom had two inches of urine in it. I didn't do it, nor did my girlfriend.
As soon as we discovered it, I alerted housekeeping (Erin) who was cleaning the room next door. She also was disgusted.
As we were leaving, I spoke to Peggy at the front desk and asked to have the manager call me (as she was not in). Peggy told me that she had talked to housekeeping and would leave a note for the manager. I asked her again to have the manager call me, to which she said "I left her a note, and if she wants to call you, she will."
I did not ask for a refund or anything. I just wanted to speak to the boss since this was a bad and disgusting thing to discover.
Today is Tuesday. The manager did not call me, apologize to us, or show any efforts towards providing minimal customer service.
Clarkston has two decent hotels. I would refer you to the Holiday Inn located on the river behind Costco.
