There was no one at the front desk when I arrived for check in, but there was a courtesy phone and an extension to call. I called three times with no answer so we ended up just standing there for 15 minutes.
Then I called the number for the hotel itself and someone answered that and came out to assist. Old school check in with a carbon copy receipt and an actual key. They gave me a tv remote at check in, but it didn’t work when I tried to use it later that night.
Hotel is very dated and dark. Not very clean. But as only one of two hotels in Devon, choices are extremely limited. I was told this one was the “nicer” one.
Walls are thin, so noises heard throughout the night from inside the hotel and out, including what sounded like a domestic dispute right outside my window.
Bed was hard but moderately comfortable, if you like that. Everything seemed clean enough but that’s not saying much.
Overall, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again if I had another choice.
