Mérit Iguazú Hotel

Excellent value for money. Staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is located nicely in a quiet area , not far from bars, restaurants etc.

Good location 10 minute walk to town. Swimming pool great to relax after a day at the falls.

It was nice the breakfast lacked but other than that it was great

Great place to stay for visit to Iguazu Falls visit. New hotel with nice pool.

Swimming pool’s color was green, I would prefer blue as usual. My wife said; all around us green in this nature so probably they choose this color.

The service was poor and unprofessional. One would think that hotels would hire an English speaking concierge since it is a tourist place and English is the number one speaking language in the world. The one we experienced when we dropped off our luggage was fine, but the next one couldn't speak English and seemed irritated when we couldn't speak Spanish. The servers at the restaurant didn't even look at us until we walked up to them (They couldn't speak English either). We asked the English speaking concierge if it was self-serve because we weren't sure what to expect as we had already waited 15 minutes for someone; then when we went to the server and ordered water - that took another 10 minutes. When we finally received everything, we had to rush out because we had places to be! Speaking of places to be, we asked for a taxi driver. He could only speak Spanish as well and we had much difficulty with that. Not-to-mention his car broke down in the middle of a hot summer day. Needless to say, we expected a lot more from this hotel. I would not recommend this place at all for English speaking tourists. If you just need a room and do not anticipate needing servers and/or service - the rooms are clean.

The room was spacious and clean. Checking in seemed quite complicated and took too long, but checking out was quicker and they held our suitcases for us due to flying out later in the evening. On the whole our stay was ok, but it felt like generally things weren’t working, one lift out of order and the other took a long time, so we resorted to the stairs mostly. Electric items in the room intermittently working which felt dangerous and broken soap dispensers. Breakfast was ok, nothing extraordinary and finished earlier than advertised and nearly caught us out as some unenthusiastic staff seemed keen to pack up before the stated time. The evening restaurant was a bad experience for us, and we were served food we did not order by an indifferent waitress who wasn’t particularly helpful. However the rooftop pool was pleasant and we liked that the hotel is located in a peaceful area about 10 minutes walk away from the main hustle and bustle of the centre. Not the best value for money,

The staffs are friendly and polite, the hotel is clean but it is a little bit far from the city centre.

pool was amazing with a great view of the city and also of Brazil. Not much to do around the hotel but great restaurant about 3 blocks away.
