Tired of the ”exiting” multicultural metropoles of Western Europe that everywhere looks the same? Tired of visiting Berlin without meeting the Germans, tired of visiting London without meeting the English, and tired of visiting Paris without meeting the French?
Tired of hideous concrete slabs that the litter the open spaces in Western Europe as a bulwark against “rogue trucks” i.e. terror attacks?
Then Poland and more specifically Krakow should be your for you. Krakow or indeed Poland has never had a terror attack and it shows.
Krakow is a beautiful city perhaps only eclipsed by Prague in central Eastern Europe, and yes, is without concrete slabs littering its magnificent open spaces. And the people you meet are actually Polish.
Hotel DoubleTree by Hilton is located somewhat outside the city center. If you are going to a concert in Tauron Arena it is probably the best situated hotel though. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Even if your stay is without breakfast do yourself the favour of having buffet breakfast at least on a Saturday or Sunday where they serve until 11 a.m.
The shopping center right across the hotel is half empty but has a state of the art and very cheap cinema. No reason to pay double for new films in Western Europe then. A large Carrefour supermarket has everything.
Just behind the shopping center trams will take you to the city center.
