I was incredibly disappointed with my room.
It looked nothing like the photos on or the one I paid for on Orbitz.
It smelled like an old pack of smoked cigarettes of yesteryear. Which gave me an enormous headache and made me want to vomit. The furniture was scraped, chipped, and spotted. And the window curtain had what appeared to be a mold stain. There was no hand soap and all of the towels were dingy, stained gray, instead of crisp white. Moreover, the WiFi signal was very weak, at best.
I drove 6 hours to this town (through fog, rain, and darkness), alone, with my small children, from New Jersey. Only to arrive to arrive to a room that made me feel utterly disrespected.
I was simply too exhausted and desperate to leave at 9:30pm, so I had to just deal. Gratefully, though the room was trash, the bedding looked and smelled clean.
I sent a message and called staff right away, to which they were kind and apologetic. They offered me a “nicer” room after agreeing that my room was “not good” and that they “didn’t like that one either.” From what I was told the staff is new and they are making updates. However, any room that looks like that should not be made available to anyone.
With only a few days left for my weekend trip, I ended up having to take their second choice for my stay because I didn’t have time to search for another property. And re-planning my whole trip was not feasible because there was very little lodging in the area, and I simply did not have the t
