This was our first trip to this hotel and thank them for adhering to conditions due to COVID The only thing I would like to bring to their attention would be that the shower cubicle tiles could have been cleaner.

Room appeared clean! Bathroom had mold growing on the tiles and the shower screen at the base need the seal cleaning as it had mold growing which appeared orange and black The throw on the bed also had marks on the underside Hair dryer didn't work properly also

Hotel was ok, i stayed in a Superior Privilege Room, found it to be quite small and not much storage. Breakfast was very nice.

We stayed at the Mecure Hotel Haymarket for 5 days and it wasn't a pleasant experience. It was our honeymoon and they didn't add any special touches to the room. Furthermore the AC unit was not working, we spoke to reception and they advised that it was a fault for all the rooms. They said an engineer would come.out to see it. On the 4th day of our stay it started to work. Which is not good enough. We were not offered another room either. Furthermore the water in the shower wasn't draining and we asked the receptionist every day. We got answers like: -Im not a plumber (large bloke behind the desk) -Female said we have this problem its one of those things. At the check out on 19.9.21 we spoke to the receptionist about the issues and asked to be refunded on some days of the stay as frankly it has been a horrible stay at the Mercure and not a great stay for our honeymoon. The receptionist said because we booked from external website that we needed to submit a review. Please can this be cascaded to a manager and dealt with with a matter of urgency. I am really upset that the hotel failed to live up to our expectations and spoilt our stay. In terms of compensation I think it is reasonable to ask for 3 days stay to be refunded as a good will gesture. Thank You Pritesh

On arrival, we found the room to be great, staff friendly and location excellent. I regret to say though that our opinion of the hotel soon changed only 3 nights into our 8 night stay when the air conditioning broke, causing me to have to open the window to our room for air (the room was severely hot and stuffy otherwise) but at the same time letting the noise of the busy street outside in aswell as unwanted light in the early hours causing a terrible nights sleep for the both of us . To cut a long story short, instead of rectifying the problem at our request the next morning, it took us another four days of asking four separate members of staff (including a manager) and another 3 sleepless nights before the air con was fixed. A portable fan (which was noisy but better than opening the window) was also only offered to us by the fourth member of staff (an extremely friendly and helpful French lady) who managed to rectify the problem the next morning. She also had on standby another room with air con working if she didn’t get it fixed (something that we had previously been informed by the manager that was not possible as it was supposedly the whole of the hotel that had been affected). Another major disappointment was the cleaning of the room. We are not a high maintenance couple so did not request our room to be cleaned every day of an 8 night stay. However, out of 3 requests, the first was completed, the second missed and the third was a clean but the bed sheets not changed.

The hotel had a great location. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we left our bags the following day in the luggage room to allow us to collect them later that day before we went home. We had a lower ground floor and would much preferred to have an upper floor. Lovely room but the pillows weren’t comfortable. Great choice at breakfast and a late check out at 12.
