Equinox Resort

The “resort” in the hotel’s title is misleading. While the staff are lovely people, there are only three to manage all 14 floors, with outsourced cleaners that tend the room once a week. The pool, spa and sauna/steam rooms are lovely but in desperate need of maintenance and proper cleaning. The lifts are rather slow and in need of maintenance. And, to top it off, the foyer has a pungent scent to it (obviously a candle or diffuser) that reminds one of the geriatric ward of a hospital — rather unpleasant. The exterior of the hotel is not as it appears in the photos. The hotel’s main facades have obvious rust and peeled paint that need ‘touching up’. However, the room itself was lovely and most enjoyable with a grand view spanning the Surfers Paradise Beach to the Estuary and Macintosh Park. The hotel has a nice location, positioned 1.2km walk from the Surfers Paradise sign and Cavill Avenue, or 600m from Macintosh’s Park. It’s a beautiful stroll.

Not the typical hotel experience but more like renting a condo for the week. Outdated but can't beat the price. Quite a walk to the major attractions but right across from the beach.

The resort is fairly old, but the managers rectified every prob that we had. Our stay was comfortable. The managers were friendly. We used most of the facilities with no problems.
