We were really looking forward to our stay here but the first disappointment was when I was called to say that the room we had booked for 2 nights was not available the first night so we could either move after 1 night or take another room. As we did not like the idea of moving after 1 night we accepted another room. We were in the 'Penthouse Suite' - at the entrance there was unfinished plasterboard and the door surround was not completed. Inside the room, the door trims and base board were not painted, nor had the pin holes been filled and some pins were still protruding. In the bathroom there was baseboard missing too. The windows are nice and new but there has never been any trim put around them so you can see the yellow foam filler and the window frames have not been painted. The blinds in the windows were very old and ripped and one was actually taped - the other had a completely ragged bottom that had been torn. The paint that had been done in the room was done badly - no neat edges but paint going onto ceiling or ceiling pint onto walls. It would not take a long time to correct these issues but we do not think that rooms should be available to guests at $125 per night until resolved. Outside, the property has a wonderful view across the valley to the town but some of the furniture was old and tired and could do with refreshing. This building itself is very nice and this could be a top property if some time & TLC was put into renovating the rooms correctly.

This is not an hotel, it is an experience. If you see this listing up, go! I am used to get just the best possible hotel to keep up my work. But the breakfasts are everywhere the same, fake machine eggs and bread that taste like plastic. Not here! The owners Lois and John are so kind and they make sure you have a great stay. The breakfast was one of the best ever. Fresh and delicious. The owners Lois and John and so nice. Hidden gem!
