Most of the employees were not friendly and did absolutely nothing to accommodate any request. Our rooms were incorrect, not as we booked and nothing was done to remedy the booking. We were supposed to have four sit down dinners and were only given two. The food was bland, the Italian restaurant was just the Buffett, and the food was terrible. The service was awful. The drinks were watered down and tasted like cough syrup. All of the shopping centers were closed. The resort is literally in the middle of nowhere so to take a transfer into town cost $160.00 round trip. When we went into the little shop in the lobby we were followed around like we were common criminals. The resort is pretty big so you had to either walk or wait for a golf cart to transport you. You couldn’t go to the Maya coffee shop and even pay for coffee because we were staying at the Del Mar hotel not the Maya. We were literally asked to leave the coffee shop even though our friends were staying there. I spent over $3500 for two rooms and expected better hospitality. The rooms were clean, we had a few wonderful servers at the buffet and a few awesome drivers which we made sure were tipped well, the nightly entertainment was great and the pool was delightful. Other than that, this trip was a total let down. Do not book at this hotel, it is mediocre at best and I have never been treated so badly at a resort. After Covid we were so looking forward to this get away and were sadly disappointed.

The staff was wonderful, and the property was good. Hiwever, the food wasnt cery good, and I got an outer ear infection. I suspect that came from the pool. It was fine for me as a solo traveler, but I doubt I would return. Many other options.

After reading a lot of the recent reviews I was a little hesitant to book this hotel. I am so glad we stayed here. We got an ocean front beach access room and it couldn’t have been more lovely. Yes, this room is the farthest from the lobby but shuttle services ran every 10 to 15 minutes so you just have to be prepared for that or walk. Some of the restaurants were closed due to Covid but it didn’t feel very restrictive in the main buffet was delicious and had lots of choices. The beach was well-maintained and The pool was gorgeous. Be very specific on what type of alcohol you want added to your drinks as most of the mixed drinks I’ll taste pretty much the same at the pool bar.

Everything was amazing the staff was friendly and very helpful with everything. The property is kept very clean food was amazing I will definitely be returning again.

The resort itself was huge, but not necessarily in a good way. Huge property but mainly all just rooms, not enough amenities. To get from one place to another was a long walk every time. At night it was very dark, not enough lighting or maps and was very easy to get lost. They didn’t provide resort maps. No elevators in this property. Food was okay. Drinks were good. Staff for the most part excellent. Entertainment group, AMAZING!!!!! Definitely made our stay fun!! Aquarobics in the morning, followed by water games early noon and late afternoon, then at night a show in the theater. Alberto took care of us during dinner and went above and beyond. Unfortunately he wasn’t there our last night and we were pretty bummed. Check in and check out was easy. Covid test included at no cost and was also fast and easy. For what we paid we felt it was worth it, unfortunately overall it just didn’t wow us enough to come back.

The staff was excellent I would never stay at Iberostar again. This was our 16th trip to Cancun We were only allowed fine dining just 1 day of the 5 day stay. This was not mentioned any where on the website description I would not recommend iberostar. We had stayed at Moon Palace in January, and there was no such dining restrictions

The hotel we went to was Iberostar Playa. The worst. The rooms didn’t look like the ones on the internet. No room service. No coffee in the room. There were only 4 working restaurants. 2 of them buffets and had the same food all the time. The other ones were the Mexican and Hibachi. Online they said they had more restaurant to choose from; but they only allowed us to reserve for 2. The Mexican and the Hibachi. Food was best at the Hibachi. Everyone was disappointed at the Mexican restaurant except me. The staff didn’t know the locations of things; they seemed lost and overworked; we found out that they had just opened up March 27th, 2021, after being closed for a year with the pandemic. Going around the hotel was not easy. As the place is huge and ir co-mingles with the other I Iberostar hotels. There weren’t too many golf carts to drive you around. The drivers foe the other hotels, didn’t want to take you to places. My sisters and the kids went to Iberostar Lindo foe the kids water park and they kept asking if they we’re staying there. Otherwise they needed to leave. We bought a pass to take the kids to the water park. Going there for 1 day cost $15 NO food was provided there; just flavored water. This is crazy. Not even cheese pizza foe the kids??? I was 5 minutes late at the SPA And had to speak to the mgr they wanted to discount that time from my service. The only thing we like was the environment. The birds and peacock were beautiful. We will never use this hotel

I like that we stayed at beach front. I disliked everything else. The food was horrible, the walk to front lobby and beach is way too far. They only have xx beer. We could not get in at any if the restaurants. Covid testing was extremely bad 1 whole day because we missed our appt. Had to pay $70. Then didnt get results had to go to phamarcy and wait for ours because the dr. Was busy and couldn't or didn't have time to send to us. I would definitely check out more before booking .

Where to start... First of all, this hotel IS CLOSED. They lure you in, but the Paraiso del Mar is not open. Before I booked this hotel, I emailed them asking if the restaurants and facilities were open. I got a reply from Efrain Garrido, saying that "only there are some occupancy restrictions in the restaurants". I took this precaution, because we are a family of 7. Since it was the only restriction, I went ahead and booked 2-2 queen rooms, with "sofa beds". We got there, after a 6 hour flight at around 10pm, with 5 very hungry kids, only to find out that the hotel was closed and they had moved us to Paraiso Beach. (Nobody mentioned that on the email I sent a week before). Not only that... they only had a 2 queen and a king room, and the sofa bed was not a sofa bed, it was just a sofa. They said they would send 2 extra beds. Already mad, but tired and hungry, I told them to just give me the room but that we needed food for the kids. They said the bell boy would take us for a snack before heading to our room. The bell boy had no idea and said that there was no food in the hotel after 10pm (I later found out that they did have a coffee place with croissants, sandwiches and snacks in the adjacent hotel, open 24hrs) The beds did come, after 4 calls, at 1:30am. Imagine having 5 hungry, tired kids, with no food and no place to sleep. It was a nightmare. The story goes on.........
