We had an entirely satisfactory stay at Hotel Gaudi in March 2023. The hotel is centrally located, and faces Palau Guell which makes for easy navigating. About 50 feet from the Rambla and 10 minute walk to the water, you cannot beat the location.
The rooms are clean, but pretty basic. For travelers who enjoy having a cup of coffee in the room as they get ready in the morning, I must warn you that there is not a kettle in the room, which is minor, and yet such a big deal for me.
We had a balcony looking out over the back "yard" of the hotel. It had a super cozy feel despite being delapidated. Again, the furniture stuck to basic, there were two chairs, and nothing else, but we had a glass of wise and enjoyed the evening there more than once.
Breakfast was great. I have certainly had better, but also much, much worse; there is good bread (which is actually the biggest deal for me), eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, yoghurt, cereal, cold cuts of ham, chese and salamis, so I expect most would find something to please them.
I would absolute stay there again.
