I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. When we checked we were given a small room facing the street. Not at all like the room pictured when I made our reservation. The man on the desk kindly switched us to a better room overlooking the garden. Nice room, good night’s sleep. The next day, leaving my husband at the hotel, I went out in the morning and returning early afternoon went to shower and to get ready for an appointment we had at 3:30 that afternoon. There was no water. The hotel had turned off all the water for remodel project and had not bothered to inform us that we would be without water. Staff were not helpful and I ended up “bathing” with two small bottles of water that I had to request. If they had let us know the water would be off, I would have showered earlier. It was very inconsiderate not to let us know about the water shutoff in advance. They did not charge us for breakfasts at our request to compensate for no water. Also we got the feeling that management did not trust their staff. One example-They had to write up a bill for the small complimentary bottles of water they gave me so I could clean up for my appointment and I had to sign it. Finally, checking out of the hotel they could not give me a receipt or the amount I had been charged, saying I had booked with Expedia and I would have to contact them. Odd. Pretty hotel, great location.

The location was great. Quiet neighborhood close to the underground and a nice park nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was not particularly clean. There were hairs in the towels, and the television did not work. The floors sagged in some areas, making it a little difficult to walk around the room. Overall an OK stay, but would expect more given the price and star rating.

A nice hotel in a good location- quiet but can walk to the Tube in 5 minutes or so and within 15 or 20 be in the heart of a lot of restaurants. Didn’t try the breakfast but it looked very nice. I would recommend to others.

We checked in to our double room 2 beds. I thought we were getting a garden view but this was the last room with double. The nice gentleman working the desk offered to upgrade me to the junior executive suite & we went up to take a look. He said the manager stays in the suite when they come in. It was quite nice however 1 king and a pullout sofa twin bed. I specifically booked the double so that my daughter would have a regular bed to finish the trip. We kept the double which was Room 015. It was just below ground with a window view of the street, garbage cans and area where the laundry bags are kept until pickup. Garbage seems to be picked up daily by 7:00AM. It was loud! The window had a large crack in it. Could not open for fresh air. The drapes had some stains, The room was clean and smelled strongly of cleanser. Husband came in and said too strong like ant spray. The desk chair was leather with multiple tears in the seat. The room was spacious. One robe. Thin towels. Large bathroom and tub/shower combo. Tea service in large closet. Plenty of hangers. The small bathroom garbage can did not open if you stepped on the handle and it would tip over. To use it you must open it with your hand :( This hotel was convenient to Russel & Holborn stations and beautiful parks, British Museum, and 2 Pret a Mangers for breakfast and snacks. I think the manager should stay in Room 015 so they can see that it is less than standard. This was not a 3 star hotel.

After I checked in they told me the aircon was not working Room so hot I refused to stay and moved hotels
