Summary:
This campsite is between the Cabin Loop and Camping Loop #2. Being our most secluded tent, it’s perfect for a peaceful forest getaway with a loved one! This campsite is a hike-in, located along the Scenic Overlook hiking trail. The location provides gorgeous sunrise scenes that show off the sparkling lake and lush, forested hills. Thick woods surround, making it seem as if you have the whole forest to yourself. This is the farthest mainland site from park bathhouse facilities, but don’t let that discourage you, as this is truly a gem of a location!
Lake Claiborne State Park is the perfect destination for swimming, fishing, birding, boating of all kinds, watersports, camping, hiking or just plain relaxing and enjoying the unsurpassed natural beauty. For fishermen, the freshwater lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill sunfish, channel catfish, black crappie, striped bass, chain pickerel, bream, and white perch. Enjoy sunbathing on the sandy beach, take a dip in the clear waters of Lake Claiborne in an area protected from boaters and water skiiers. Lake Claiborne SP offers the #1 and #2 ranked disc golf courses in the state. The woods of Lake Claiborne are also home to a wide variety of wildlife, nature trails, and a scenic overlook. The park offers a variety of nature tours on a regular basis. Kayaks and canoes available for day rental!
This campsite is equipped with a pre-set sturdy canvas tent on it's own wooden deck platform. The tent is furnished with a queen-size memory foam mattress, side tables, and a propane tent heater. A picnic table, fire pit with a grill, a solar shower, and portable camp loo are also provided, and campers are able to use the park's restroom facilities as well. There is an additional pop up tent provided for extra guests, but you will have to bring your own air mattresses/sleeping pads for this tent.

Other Things to Note:
Be sure to bring your own food, firewood and bedding. Firewood must be supplied from within a 50 mile radius to prevent the spread of invasive insects and disease. There is no electricity or water hookup available at your Tentrr site. A 5-gallon jug is provided for water storage, but you must pack your own drinking water! Anything you pack in, you must pack out. All trash MUST be deposited in your designated campsite receptacle at the end of your stay. If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee of $50. Have a wonderful stay!
