Great location, pleasant stay but not all 5 star
Slept for 4 nights at this central boutique hotel. The interior and atmosphere of the hotel is very romantic and especially the rose lobby takes you back to the hotels glory time in the 1930’s. Your room were kept clean throughout our stay. Big bathtub, well sized shower and a decent sized bedroom with a little shortage on storage space. The balcony is a nice touch, but to small to really make a difference. Some items in our room had started to show aging even though the renovation has been done fairly recently.
We enjoyed a well assorted breakfast with a mix of Chineese and western food. Possibility of assorted egg-dishes made to order.
The staff were friendly and most spoke english.
A little annoyance were that the cleaning personal slipped a note under the door if we were in when they came by. We then had to deliver the note at the counter when we left to get the room cleaned. The zircon unit in our room was fairly loud and could not cool the room lower than 23,5 degrees Celsius.
Location of the hotel is very central. Right next to peoples park and the start of the main shopping street. 50 meters to a metro station. walking distance to The Bund.
