Treated like garbage
Fire alarm blasting on my floor (Dennis Towers Room 248, right by the Casino) at 8:30 in the morning. Everyone told to evacuate the building. My friends on the 9th floor had no alarm, only the Casino floor and the rooms on the second floor had an alarm going off. 30 minutes nonstop on a Sunday morning, woken up out of sleep by a fire alarm that doesn’t stop for a half an hour.
Understandably, I assume a ton of people were trying to get rooms comped / paid for. However, its clear that only my floor was impacted by the alarm / evacuation in the morning. So naturally, the front deak says they aren’t “comping anyone.”
For the most part I agree they shouldn’t comp everyone. It makes sense, the alarm didn’t go off on floors 3 and above.
But when I’m woken up HOURS before my checkout by a nonstop alarm and forced to evacuate, I don’t think asking for 1 night comped (half my trip) is unreasonable at all.
Well, apparently Bally’s did, and denied my request.
I’m not trying to take advantage of them. I know a ton of guest probably tried to exploit the fire alarm. However, when the reality is I was forcebly awaken and told to evacuate in the early hours of a Sunday Morning, I’m definitely not going to enjoy my stay. It was actually ruined in the end by this happening. And my face was essentially spit in by front desk and management when asked for an explanation as to why I couldn’t get any form of compensation back for a mistake they made.
Don’t stay at Ballys.
