The breakfast was poor. Waffles was nasty and the biscuits was hard as a rock. Bathroom wasn't very clean, hair in the shower. This hotel use to be my favorite to stay in and it no longer is. Still have not received my deposit back yet.

10/10 Exceptional

Christmas week at Independence Quality Inn
We booked via 3rd party and requested a ground level floor and handicapped accessible room if possible. This motel DELIVERED ! We loved the shower with large shower chair and detachable shower head! Our primary negative experience was we had problems with our room key not unlocking the auxiliary door from the outside several times and had to take the keys back around to the front entrance and ask the desk clerk to reset them. The other negative was room service had to be requested. The clerk did not inform us of this upon check in and we failed to see the notice posted on bathroom mirror. 🙄 I asked for towels and was told they would be delivered shortly—and in less than 5 minutes they were! Overall a good place to stay. We have stayed there before and definitely will again!

2/10 Poor

Awful, don’t waste a single penny.
This hotel was way below expectations. I fished paint jobs, paint chipping, huge scratches on the vinyl floor, heater took hours to warm the room, outlets between beds weren’t working, lightbulbs burned out, toilet tank wouldn’t fill so we had to take the lid off and push the flapper back down to get it to stop the noise of it trying to fill. The blankets on the beds were very thin and we had to bring our own blankets in. Under the sheets the mattress looked like it had old blood or something on it. Crooked outlets. Definitely fooled by the pictures on the website. I only rated it 1 star but wouldn’t 100% not ranked it at all for how poor it was and I might be missing some things. Spent $160 for one night with a $100 deposit that will hold for probably a week. Very horrible conditions for paying that much. Very much wish I could be refunded but wasn’t worth the fight for how late it was when we arrived back in the room.

2/10 Poor

I wish I could give this place a negative rating.
Dirty doesn’t even begin to cover this place. It smelled weird. The showers don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in months. Our room got switched twice on the first night due to no tv in one room and then the room we got switched to didn’t have a lock. The next day we got switched yet again because the AC was dripping into the room below us. This time the door actually locked, but it was missing the safety chain to lock it from the inside and you had to put your shoulder into the door to make sure it closed. There’s a $100 cleaning fee hold, which they don’t tell you about when you book. So if your stay was $100, your card will be charged $200 until they decide if they want to refund you your cleaning fee. The lobby looks good, but the rest of the hotel looks like a “no tell motel.” If you get my drift. Best thing about this “hotel” was that smoothie king and jack in the box were next door.

Absolutely Terrible
Hotel was very dirty. Half of the lights and outlets didn’t work. Shower wouldn’t get warm. Very poor craftsmanship when maintaining and repairing room.

Not good experience
First room the toilet wouldn’t flush. Moved to another room tv and air conditioner didn’t work. Was gonna move to another room but toilet wouldn’t flush so stayed in second room with no tv and air. Breakfast the sausage gravy was cold, biscuits hard, waffle mix so runny wouldn’t make waffle and orange juice sour. Hotel was under construction.

Disappointed
The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean, BUT, the rest if the room was poor (strong odor, broken faucet, thick layer of dust above tiles, thick ice in refrigerator so nothing got cold, bathroom fan sounded like a freight train, no desk chair).

The property is not in a good. Parking lot was pretty sketchy. The lobby was fairly nice, but it was downhill from there. The room was in serious need of repairs. The tub caulking was disgusting. Out our window, we had a view of a gazebo with trash laying around. The air conditioning worked well.

2/10 Poor

The property is definitely not what they advertise. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE STAY THERE... It is very old not clean and very unsanitary... the room they gave us had black mold ike black mold and something else rotting in the room... There were holes in the walls, and the electrical outlets were loose with exposed hanging wires... the carpet throughout the hallways and in the room smelled like mildew and mold as well... was informed that the only way to enter the entire motel was through their front doors and no other doors were aloud due to issues with homeless people in the area... end up Having to get a motel somewhere else and lost out on money I had paid expedia to pay the motel

This hotel was very disappointing! Rooms were dirty. Stains on the comforter. Carpet wasn’t attached to the floor. There was a hole in the sheet rock wall in our room. There were homeless people everywhere.

This was a great location and price for our visit to KC. Renovations are on going, but needs lots more. Just lots of little things not working. Staff and service were great. The breakfast was not the best.

This place was absolutely disgusting. Carpet to the room was dirty and stained, room smelled, toilet did not flush, bugs crawling by ice machine, very loud. Just GROSS! Left immediately and was not offered a refund because I paid before I got there and it was longer than 30 minutes after securing the room. Complete nonsense.

Didn't feel safe.
Dated and rundown. Door to room was off the hinges so you had to lift up on handle to close. Bathroom walls had glue and holes from long ago from a past remodel. Did not feel safe leaving motorcycle in parking lot, many homeless people hanging out around hotel property.

8/10 Very Good

The room was clean and did not have carpet! That was an upgrade as carpet always holds odor. Bathroom was dated but clean. The courtyard area/gazebo had not been mowed and someone left empty beer cans all over. Overall, it was a comfortable room for the weekend visit to the area. The staff was friendly and nice.
