Before our stay, we had stayed at a cheaper hotel in the city and with fewer stars, so we thought we would now experience an EVEN better hotel. But no. The staff at the reception seemed happy and engaged, the hotel appeared run down and the tables were not cleared for breakfast. Our room remote didn't work so I went down to reception to get a couple of new batteries. I couldn't get that, but they would fix things right away, was the message. When we got back to the room many hours later, no one had been there to do the remote control, so we called reception. "We'll send one up immediately", they said.15 minutes after that we had to call the reception again and then realized that they hadn't even asked anyone to solve our problem! In the spa, there was no soap in the shower rooms, and we pointed this out on days 1, 2 and 3 before it was refilled!
The hotel taxi service cost 10 euros more to the airport than the hotel we came from, despite both hotels being in the old town. Finally the beds were not very comfortable and the security on the balconies was disastrous! We stayed on the 9th floor and had a balcony. But there was a 15-20 cm high opening all the way down the side of the balcony. In theory, a child could fall out and through if he slipped on the balcony floor!
The rooms and the hotel was clean - this is the best to say about this hotel.
My recommendation is to book instead (cheaper and much better Kollmann Rooms and Apartments 300 meters away)!
